After the completion of front-end engineering and design (FEED) works granted in June 2019, Aker Solutions has now been awarded an engineering, procurement and installation (EPCI) contract by Shell for the Jackdaw gas field.
The company will be responsible for the provision of a not permanently attended installation (NPAI) for the project. It will consist of a complete wellhead platform (topside and steel jacket) and services including load-out and offshore hook-up and commissioning.
Aker’s yard in Verdal, Norway, will carry out the construction works, which will involve over 300 people.
Shell will receive the steel substructure in 2023, with the topside scheduled for 2024.
This new contract, worth between US$210m and US$310m, will be booked in Aker’s Renewables and Field Development segment in the third quarter of 2023.
